Street Photography

This is a course for people who enjoy recording the life of our cities. Street Photography is about the variety of sights; whether it be architecture, people, animals, or even litter; that we see in and around our cities, towns and villages. We photograph the usual and the unusual, the shop windows, the street markets, the parks and anything else that makes our urban spaces so vibrant.

The Course is spread over six weeks, with one classroom session, which will go into the do's and don'ts of taking candid photographs of strangers and street entertainers.

The total cost is £200, but this can be paid, either in total, or week by week.

Landscape Photography

This is a practical course taking place over six sessions.
The total cost is £200, but this can be paid, either in total, or week by week.

Each week we will either go on a photo walk taking shots in different settings, or, if the weather is against us, we will work indoors.

 Long Exposures

Landscape photography is a huge topic, simply because the landscape has so many variables. The aim of this course is to set you in the right direction for different situations. For example shooting a specific tree in a woodland would seem to be and is totally different from shooting a wide open seascape, but there are aspects that are common to both. For example choosing the time of the best light, or deciding whether to use a fast shutter speed or to do a long exposure.

There is one aspect that is more important even than your camera and lenses, because getting it wrong can spoil the whole outing. What you wear! Your clothing and footwear MUST be suitable for the weather and the ground conditions. Kneeling down on wet sand with non-waterproof trousers is bad enough, but to have your hands so cold that you can’t even press your shutter takes all the pleasure out of your hobby for that day.
